Eisenstein: Methods of Montage Response -Ricardo Morales

Eisenstein talks about different techniques in which a film could be edited to have better flow and transitions between scenes. He talks about how the action in the scene should match the beat of the song playing in the background to give it rhythm and create an atmosphere. Also having a group of shots that are related to each other to make the allusion of a linear movement or action. I believe his methods are interesting and would like to use them in a future video for this class or another class.

Hito Steryl brings up an interesting argument that the internet is not what it used to be when it was first introduced. Back in the 90's the internet was meant to facilitate communication around the world and to have easier access to information. While that part is still true today, the part that's dead is the privacy part. In 2013, we learned that the U.S government could listen to what you are saying over the phone. This raised a lot of speculation as to what extent the government watches us. We have probably been watched by the government since the Internet was introduced in the 90's, however we were not aware of it. The moment we discovered we don't have as much privacy the Internet died.

Hito Steryl proposes and interesting idea that helps us see how far the internet has come. Steryl makes his readers grasp the reality of the internet. What once started as a good thing full of possibility has transform into something that can be very dark and scary. “Although not everyone uses the internet, the internet has reached unimaginable places” it has transforming reality into something that is not true a false reality, and we depend so much on this. We are very dependent on the internet, risking our privacy our safety giving it the power to shape our beliefs and ideas as well as our perception of reality. With all his interesting ideas Hito Steryl makes us realize how alive the internet is maybe even more alive than we are. The bad of our world uses the internet to control us more than we control it.

To quote the reading, the internet, as far as I'm concerned, is not dead, but "all over". As time passed since the creation of the internet and with the building of multiple websites, the internet hasn't died, but has become such a part in our life that it's almost second nature. Once you go online for the first time, you're so enamored that you can hardly pull yourself out, and even if you manage to, it's still affecting you one way or the other. Cinema has also evolved and equally become nature to us, generating technology for TV, home media, Apple products, etc. The main problem is that people are watching . On a lot of sites, if you got an account, you can mess up with copyright or other things.
